Accessibility Statement
This page describes the current build's accessibility work and what's still outstanding — review before launch.
Our goal
Aloha Animal Alliance wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technology. We are targeting WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
What's already in place
- Semantic HTML headings, landmarks and form labels throughout.
- A visible "skip to main content" link for keyboard users.
- Focus indicators on every interactive element.
- Alt text on all meaningful images; decorative icons are hidden from screen readers.
- Color combinations checked for contrast against the teal/cream/gold palette.
- Reduced-motion support for people who've set that preference in their operating system.
Known gaps before launch
[PLACEHOLDER: run a full manual screen-reader pass (VoiceOver + NVDA) and an automated scan (axe or Lighthouse) before go-live, and list any remaining issues and target dates here, per the Developer Handoff Checklist QA matrix.]
Reporting a problem
If you use assistive technology and run into a barrier on this site, please email alohae@alohaanimals.org with the page and what happened, and we'll work to fix it.
